Engineering Students Win 1st and 2nd Place in STEM Poster Competition

On March 31, 2022, the Graduate Student Research Showcase was held. This series of competitions was part of the Graduate Student Appreciation Week co-sponsored by the Graduate School and the Office of the Vice President. Competitors were both masters and doctorate graduate students from Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nursing, Computer Science, Kinesiology, Geology, English, Educational Leadership, Psychology, and Systems Technology. Graduate students competed in paper and poster competitions. There was a Humanities, STEM, and Professional category for both competitions.

William Wirth, pictured below, from Mechanical Engineering came in first place for the STEM poster competition. The tile of William's poster is "Chemical, Electrical, and Mechanical Stability of Low Dielectric Constant Materials for Flexible Electronic Devices". William Wirth is a masters student working under Dr. SeonHee Jang in the Multifunctional Materials and Devices Lab. Mohamed Awaad from Systems Engineering came in second place for the STEM poster competition. The title of Mohamed's poster is "Web-Based Flood Forecasting System for Vermillion Watershed".
