Dr. Raju Wins NSF Grant

Dr. Raju Gottumukkala, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, has won an NSF grant titled “RAPID: Visual Analytics Approach to Real-Time Tracking of COVID-19,”. As part of this research, he leads a research team in the development of a visual analytics system that integrates heterogeneous datasets, analytical models, and data-engineering tools for decision support in a complex and evolving pandemic. Part of this work involves the development of the COVID-19 Resilient Economy Support Tool (CREST) which is in use by the city of New Orleans mayor’s office to both understand and respond to dynamically evolving risk to communities.
