Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Studies may be concentrated in the areas of Energy
Conversion/Thermal-Fluid Science, Machine Science, Mechanical Vibrations,
Controls, Dynamics, Lubrication and Tribology, Computer-Aided Design, and
Computer-Aided Manufacturing.
The graduate coordinator for the department is Dr. Mostafa A. Elsayed. Any

Course Requirements:
For the thesis option, thirty (30) semester hours of graduate
credit are required as follows: (1) A minimum of 15 credit hours in
Mechanical Engineering courses; (2) Six credit hours of approved engineering
electives; (3) Three credit hours in mathematics or statistics; and (4) Six
credit hours of thesis work and a thesis.
For the non-thesis option, thirty-six (36) semester hours of graduate credit
are required as follows: (1) A minimum of twenty-four (24) credit hours in
Mechanical Engineering; (2) Six credit hours of approved technical
electives; (3) Three credit hours in mathematics or statistics; and (4)
Three credit hours of a research component.
In both options, the selection of courses must be approved by the Committee
Chairman and the Graduate Program Coordinator. A maximum of two 400(G)
Engineering courses in either option will be allowed. Application Forms:
