Mission Statement
Educational Objectives

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide quality education and meaningful career opportunities for mechanical engineering graduates of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. We develop highly qualified graduates with potential to assume engineering positions of increasing responsibility in industry, or to pursue higher learning in the form of graduate studies;

We facilitate relevant research and development activities for faculty for economic and professional development, faculty proficiency, and feedback to the instructional program;

We provide services to the College of Engineering, the University, and the Community in which this University resides.

PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES

  • Produce graduates with a sound foundation in mathematics, the basic sciences, engineering science, and design that apply these skills to create new knowledge and innovative designs.

  • Produce graduates with the well-rounded education, including communication and humanistic social skills, necessary to function in a team environment in a global marketplace.

  • Prepare graduates for positions of increasing responsibility in industry, government, and academia.

  • Produce graduates who will engage in life-long learning.

  • Produce graduates with a strong sense of professional ethics that give continuous service to the profession and to the community.
