Dr. Vaughan manages a controls and robotics research facility. He uses some of the same robotics equipment in courses. Dr. Taylor has a biomedical research laboratory with high end computing and visualization systems as well as a mock circulatory loop develop for the purpose of testing artificial heart valves.
Rougeou Hall, Room 119, is large high bay area that is used for multiple purposes. There are several metal forming machines in this facility that are used in courses as well as for research. There are also numerous other machines for material testing and development.
Mechanical engineering faculty members also play a key role in the research underway at the UL Alternative Energy Research in Crowley, Louisiana.
